I know all people are different, and I am not a doctor, so I can't guarantee the accuracy of my answer completely. However, I don't think it's normal to feel real pain in your stomach during pregnancy. It is, however, normal to feel stretching pains in your abdomen, sides, and within your vaginal area during pregnancy, but this is usually during the second and third trimesters.

As for stomach aches in the sense of nausea and vomiting, that is very normal, especially for the first trimester. If this is your problem, try REAL ginger ale (found in natural food stores, try a brand such as Blue Sky or Hanson's), dried fruit, oatmeal, almonds, and peppermint hard candy. Also natural mint and lavender aromatherapy sometimes helps.

If the pain is from pressing on your abdomen, though, I don't think that's normal. Talk to your OB/GYN right away. Also, if you feel cramping, call your OB right away, as it can signal complications.

Good luck!

Mine did for a while when I first became pregnant. I couldn't wear shorts with elastic in them or sleep on my stomach. If you're worried about it talk to your doctor, but I don't think its a big deal. Mine passed after a month or two.

It can be sore when pressure is put on it, but it shouldn't hurt.
