It is a simple thing to solve. First we have to fine the people who employee illegals, then we need to end all government aid to them, then we need to increase the number of green cards by 12 million. That way an illegal can go to their home country and get a green card.

Lots of people give opinions on the immigration reform without knowing exactly what it is all about. Many people don't even know we offer a lottery for green cards, but there is one catch your country can not have too many petitions for resident status. Well that leaves out Mexico and many other countries also. All I have to say about it is this, if just because I have legally gained a permanent resident card why can't I receive my social security benefits at retirement age? It is taken out of my paycheck along with every other person living in the U.S. So if I can't receive it, why is being taken out of my check? That is one of the things they are trying to do with the immigration reform. What about a citizen that is married to a person here in the U.S. legally, they can't even get spousal benefits of social security if that person dies. I think they need to just do another amnesty and start over by better patrolling of borders, airports, railways, and buses. Then they should also fine employers that hire those that are here in the U.S. illegally.

Reform needs to address the fact that legal immigration is a time-consuming, bureaucratic nightmare. Many people who come here illegally do so because they don't want to wait years (or a decade) to go through it the legal way. When you're struggling to make ends meet in a highly unequal society, the paper-pushing policies that hinder legal immigration seem like a barrier that's worth ignoring.

if the u.s. was serious about getting tough on who's in our country
they would do the following. use the border states, the closed down or not in full use military bases
have the guests come to the bases get visas and the u.s. get info. of whos in the country, and they have 30 days to do all this.
run checks, get visas, and get them jobs and keep track of them, giving them 5 years probation, get a system to where the guests can pay whatever fines or back taxes is necessary they get convicted of felony they go back to there country.

i would volunteer for this position to get this program started or talk to someone in homeland security for input. approved guests pay for the employees fees that are employed at the bases.

its not about the mexicans its about closing our borders to terrorists, we are respeonsible for our own borders not mexico or canada. if mexico wants to help us, get the paperwork ready and right for its people to get here.
land of the free yes, land of the free to bring bombs in he&& no!!!

and another suggestion, as implemented. you want citizenship, join up, 4 years you get citizenship is fine by me also.
