If you like white san and unspoiled beaches, clean blue tropical water on an Immaculately kept Island resort I would suggest Marbuena Island Resort in Ajuy Iloilo. It's on a private island 10 minutes offshore with nature tails, Island hopping tours, stunning sunsets and a resort with a staff of courteous helpful people attending to your every need. Cost's $35 a night but is well worth the cost and 1/3 the cost of Boracay. It's a place to go and relax and get away from it all. Don't bother trying to find it on the web. It's not there but you might find it in a travel Guide. If you want something more exciting, go to Boracay. It's about 2 hours away from Marbuena.

Spend a couple days on Bohol -- Chocolate Hills, Tarsiers, Loboc River ride (floating restaurant). Alona Beach is nice. Eat at Trudis Place and many other restaurants on the beach.

Visit Boracay and Puerto Galera too -- plenty of lodging, and dining on the beach. Lots of tourist shops. Pleasant night life.

Villa Escudero is a nice coconut plantation resort out of the way -- meals included in the deal.

I'm there now (at the time of this writing) with my husband. I'll be back for Christmas.

Hidden Vallen Springs is nice too -- nice accomodations, meals included in the deal, and, well, hot springs to soak in.

Visit Baguio City - the summer capital of the Philippines. From there, go to Laoag City in Ilocos Norte, the hometown of the infamous Ferdinand Marcos. On your way to Laoag, stop by the many beaches along San Fernando, la Union, after that, check out the old town of Vigan in Ilocos Sur, then proceed to Laoag. Stay in the main island of Luzon and part of Visayas, and if you can, avoid the island of Mindanao. There are great places to visit there, but, that's where the Moslems associated to Bin Laden are known to kidnap Americans for money. Manila, Makati and Quezon city are too crowded, have too much traffic, and takes hours to travel small distances, but that's where it's fun to shop, plenty of mega malls to go to.

All these places are worth a mention.Cebu is best for a big city atmosphere with plenty of shopping, nightlife etc.It is also a good base for visiting the surrounding islands by air or by sea at reasonably low prices.Cebu itself has many beautiful beaches,is cosmopolitan and has many restaurants.

Bohol is the Philippines number 1 destination (for the last three years), but i like Ormoc City, its clean and green, the most friendly people in the world always a smile, and polite
Lots of fun also, loads of great accomodation from hotel/resorts like Sabins, through hotels with pools like Ormoc Villa, to nice bungalows to rent
