Superman always has been my favorite. He is perfect as a hero, he is perfect as great men of values by loving so much and feeling so much for humans, what most humans can't even feel for each other.

General Patton of WW2 fame. He was a bit of a nut case but one hellava general. The Germans feared him because they realized how great he was.

I would say Batman. the character is written extremely well (Frank miller : Batman - year one & the dark Knight returns). He has no superhuman powers other than his strict discipline and an extemely intelligent analyical mind. (ok so i'm big dork!!!)
