You dont even need a backpack, you usually carry a binder and a book, u only need a bag really on the last few days of school, besides, i think you keep your backpack in your locker.

Try looking online at L.L. Bean - they make some pretty nice stuff - one backpack got me through my entire highschool - be sure to get the bigger size though. It's well worth it.
