Hawking is too smart to believe in Gore. Actually Hawking is not for this world.

I don't think Stephen Hawking has to be an Al Gore fan to be concerned about where our world is headed. However, both are highly intelligent men who seem to have their hearts and head in what they believe and certainly they share mutual respect.

By the way, the next time you talk to Hawking you might mention he should consider the concept of self-propelling electronic pistons as a viable replacement for petro. That or antimatter.

Or not.

I answered his question, though I doubt he will ever read my answer.

Hawking seems sincere in his question, although a little bit misguided and acting on his own agenda. His agenda is not to support one political party or another. It is to ensure the survival of the human race, which he (like many) think is not assured.

His own agenda is that he thinks that our future is in space so that just in case we destroy the earth there are alternatives. That is not any kind of bleeding-heart-liberal thing. When you think of it he's promoting progress, science, and technology in a very calm and realistic way. Liberals would tell you that we should cut funding on NASA and science so that we can give money to poor people instead.

Common sense, and all science and reason, will tell you that those in charge of America have been downplaying the threat of global warming in order to favor powerful American economic interests at the expense of the future of the world. That is not a political question at this point, just what happened.

Thank you Dr. Watson, I couldn't have said it better myself. Except, I like him the way he is. He shows us that there is no boundary that one can not overcome. I respect him and a lot that he has to say, too.
We got to see the whimsical side of him when he guest voiced on the Simpsons. He is a real cool and "Far-out" dude, in more ways than one.

Hawking is a fan of the human race.

Political parties aren't even on his radar, he just wants suggestions on how we can ALL make it to the year 2106.
