Why will we linger longer? How must we prepare ourselves? Why will humans put them selves together? Will we get along? How must we keep warm to survive such conditions?Or will we fade into history as we know it?

Global warming is the "pull start" for the Ice Age Jason. It will melt the ice caps so that enough fresh water floods the oceans stopping the flow(like the Gulf Stream) which circulates the heat from near the equator to the colder regions. Now, OK, who knows how long people in the north will linger.Well, as far as preparations it's going to be rough, food will will be a major concern as agriculture slowly declines and coastlines will first flood then recede. Stockpiling may help but an all meat diet will become the norm. Oh, and hate to say it, but fat people survive longer in freezing temperatures than lean people do. We don't get along now, it's not going to get any better when a crisis happens. Keep warm any way you can. All civilizations fade into history as they knew it. Don't worry so much about all this, at the very least it won't happen 100 years, and if you live to be 100 you'll not care about it anyway.

The interesting thing about something like that happening is that we will be reminded that we are subject to the forces of nature. Though, I’m not referring to the weather. Rather I’m sighting natural selection, survival of the fittest. We as a species coddle our meek. We tend to support those who either can’t or won’t help themselves. We don’t teach our children how to survive in extreme situations. We’ve become far to dependant on technology. If another ice age were to come about, (and some scientist believe it’s coming soon) most of the human race would indeed be wiped out. Only a resilient few would survive.

Ian first instruct me some global warming not led to through image voltaic activity. From the 1850s through 1940 we had a substantial warming fueled through a spike in sunspots. The warmest year right here replaced into 1934, which replaced into cooler than the overall in the course of the MWP. Then through the 40's and 50s it cooled somewhat as Co2 tiers rose dramatically. It warmed somewhat contained in the early 60s and then cooled lower back contained in the 70s bringing on the excellent Hansen’s first visual charm on the international degree promotion Co2 as a global cooling gas that replaced into going to stress the international into the subsequent ice age and starve or kill various the worlds inhabitants. Then merely as this replaced into getting off the floor the daylight spot activity jumped lower back and issues began warming up lower back. So on the advice of Al Gore Mann and Hansen rewrote their finished state of affairs to compare his alarmist e book and changed the NASA temperature files to coincide with Co2 tiers. This heating era resulted in about 2000 with the optimal year of the cycle in 1998 nicely below the 1934 record year. considering then low image voltaic activity has allowed cooling to set in and genuine scientists are observing intently to ascertain what route temperatures are going to do. lately Hansen, Gore and a number of the different alarmists have admitted to 20 years or extra of cooling previously it starts warming lower back, yet they at this aspect are guessing a similar as each and every person else!

im sure we will be able to survive an ice age. there is nothing much different about an ice age, than it is right now. the only difference is we can no longer live in the northern and the extreme southern countries. not every place in the world had much changes in their climate during an ice age, especially near the equator. but in moderately cold areas, the changes in climate was very significant. we would all have to migrate to a warmer area.

Ice ages and global warming are part of a cycle.

They happen over the course of thousands of years. Who's to say that we arent in either right now. Our time on this earth is a blink if that compared to hundreds of thousands of years...

But if we do have a ice agelike you see in the movies I think the best thing to do is sleep when you can eat when you can work when you can...stay warm...and learn to ice fish

Ice ages are part of earths cycle and we will survive it. I think because of our changing technology and the fact that eventually we will have to go to a more agrarian existence we will have to find new and different ways to preserve society. It will depend on how well we survive the next few thousand years.

In Dr. Strangelove it was suggested that we get a lot of mine shafts. But be careful you don't want to have a mineshaft gap.
