It depends on where you locate the computer. Make sure you allow sufficient air circulation space around the computer air vents and clear the vents of dust and blockage regularly. Consider having airconditioning if the computer is running on hot summer days.

If the computer is located indoor, well ventilated room, it can run for at least 3 years - in my experience. However, if your computer is running 24/7, its not only whether the fan can last - you also need to consider the durability of the hard-disk drive, processor boards, memory boards, etc.

I think you mean like an 80mm computer case fan. As long as its not super cheap and you do your best to keep it clean it should last for many years into the future. It will probably outlast the true usability of the computer, in other words, something much faster, better, and cheaper will be available by the time the fan dies. IF it does die, its no big deal. Just replace it.

I would think a life time but,

Dust is the killer of all hardware. The more dust build up, the harder the fan needs to work.

So dust once every 2 weeks to keep your hardware in top notch condition.

again, you need to be more specific......

power supply fan? an additional cooling fan? a cpu fan?

and what is the maker of the fan? That makes a huge difference.
