It really depends... If it's a *real* Lamaze class, it will be mostly about breathing in different patterns. It's mostly a waste of time, actually--no woman forgets to breathe in labor!!
Bradley classes are similar, but they teach a different method. But it still assumes that whatever some male doctor invented is best for every woman.
The LeBoyer method is different still. But I've never heard of LeBoyer classes...
Bradley and LeBoyer themselves, by the way, were both misogynists (hated women). If you want to learn about either method *don't* read books by the original authors or you may be disgusted...
If you're taking some "brand name" childbirth course, do your own research. The class will teach you *one* way of dealing with labor, but there are others. All in all, Bradley tends to be better than Lamaze; more women who take Bradley get enough support to get them through labor, while Lamaze graduates have a really high rate of birth interventions.
If it's a non-Lamaze non-brand-name childbirth class, it could be almost anything. Hospital classes, for instance, are often brainwashing for whatever the hospital wants you to know or do to follow their rules. If that's what you're taking, ask a lot of questions (especially "What are the risks of that?") and find your own information on the Web or in books. Independent classes are usually better--they'll talk about the risks of the things the hospital classes assume are just normal.
Wear something comfortable. You'll probably be moving around and getting down on the floor a lot. And be sure that your husband is prepared to help you back *up* from the floor a couple of times during each class!!

I had one with my first pregnancy, it is scary until you get there, it is just a nurse or midwife explaining what to expect in the hospital room, and signs to watch for to let you know you are in labor. They teach you how to keep track of your contractions, and the best way to breathe to help you relax. This helped my husband out until the part where they showed us a video of a woman giving birth. He kinda freaked out a little, and I heard a lot of OH MY GOD's, and EWWW's lol. But the rest was simple, they teach him massage techniques to help relieve some of the pain, and you different positions to lie in to help speed up labor or ease contractions. It is best for you to dress comfortably, because you will likely be getting up and down from the floor. Don't worry, it is kinda fun, they even let you practice diapering dolls and giving baby their first bath.

Sorry, total waste of time. Dumb bag, packed with clock, massage stuff, blah-blah. You will be too busy to care about any of that, especially that silly breathing, sugar. Best thing- take your Mom, Sister, your best GF and your husband. My birth was over in 3 hours both times and so was a lot of other women I know.
