im from East...in my country there is fashion of short shirts wid shalwars.....i also wear one...no body part of mine is eexposed except my face n hands till knees....my teacher in university told me not to wear these type of clothes cuz im studying in coeducation thats y it is not good to wear such type of dresses in university...can u plz tell me am i rite or my teacher is rite?or should i wear these clothes...my english is little poor so plz try to understand n dont mind...thanx

You have the right to wear whatever you please, as long as you don't offend anyone else. I don't know why your teacher is giving you such a hard time, but they have no right to. Ask to talk to a school counselor and ask them what the school policy is about clothing from different countries. If the teacher is still harassing you, you need to report him/her so they can be reprimanded.

You're offending your teacher's sense of tradition. Because I do not come from your part of the world, I cannot know how bad a short skirt may seem to most people. (I thought the shalwar covered the legs, though.) You will have to decide how much it bothers people around you, how important to you those people who get upset are, and how important it is to you to show your own style.
No one can answer that for you. It is not about who is right and who is wrong. But if it might cause trouble for you, is it worth it?
It is funny, but I am an American, and I have been trying to find shalwar kameez that I can afford because I think they would look so nice on me!

I think that its ok to wear those clothes because its the custom of your country. Its not right for your teacher to prevent you from wearing those types of clothes just because its different from what other people usually wear. People should learn to respect the traditions of other country.

Dress the way you want and don't listen to anyone else. If you like it then you should be happy. Don't cater to everyone else.
