In my opinion, Germany was wanting to go to penalty kicks. They knew they had the better record (4-0 as opposed to Italy's 0-3 record on PK's) and the better GK. I think they just relaxed a bit too much at the end thinking they will go to PK's, and Italy noticed this (and new they sucked at Pk's!) so they just stepped up and had more heart, and wanted it more then Germany.
I'm very sad that Germany lost. But I enjoyed the run they had.

The teams looked bad - both of them - the teams did not wanted to rick playing offensive soccer, and I think that Italy was afraid of a penalty shoot out more than Germany.
And as we saw both team had big possibilities in the extra time. And that was mainly because Italy played with bigger rick.

German's with a spirited performance and thanks to there home crowd have gone well past the expectation..
and this world cup is all about better defense.. well i guess italy has the best defense in the world and hence deserved a well fought victory..
but Germans have been the heart of this world cup.. they played extremely entertaining football and deserve all the praise equivalent to the world cup winners whoever that is...

You got me. After America(which I know wasn't going to get far-but I am an American) I was pulling for Germany. Now it's not even worth it imo. Guess I'll pull for Italty to win it all. Definetly pulling for the Port. over france.

i just thought that the Germans took some time to get into the game. they weren't so confident most of the time. if they had been, perhaps they could have gotten past Italy first with their powerful strikers. but i'm so glad that the best defenders of the whole cup, Italy, had managed to get into the final. they truly deserve the trophy.

I don't know. The boys did a good job, but the Italians, too, and they were luckier in the end.
Still, I'm proud of our boys.
