In my years of gardening i have never seen this. strange alien looking purple beetles eating my tomatoes. When i go to get them, theres at least four on each tomato. They have a needle like projection on their heads they inject into the fruit and make holes and suck it dry. Texas has more bugs than most. But I havent seen these little bastards before. And to think I hate grasshoppers because they eat my peppers-habaneros even!

I am not certain what you have but I have a cure anyhow.

This will kill any bug (anything with an exoskeleton--which includes beetles, ants, roaches, etc.) and is not in any way harmful to you, kids, pets etc.

Diatomaceous Earth is the name of the product and you can get it from:

Theirs is "food grade" and that is what you want. You might find Diatomaceous Earth at a garden center but BE SURE to only get the food grade--you don't want the other kind.
