My opinion is that it's pretty depressing to think that we don't have enough talented people out there in the movie industry who can come up with riveting plots and interesting storylines without having to go back to old movies. Even sadder, movie remakes today just ruin the originals. I think we're at the point where someone should have a stroke a genius and write a very good screenplay, one that does not rely on some other movie. Then would we be able to progress once more.

My opinion is that the movie industry is simply attempting to commerciaize on successful films from the past. Only problem is that the majority of the remakes that have been released in the last year and a half have been quite bad. I watched the Omen remake and it has made me decide not to ever invest money in another remake, ever again.
The trend nowadays seems to be focused on low-budget, independent productions which are getting a lot more attention than previously. I think that Remakes are a big reason for this trend.

There are far too many remakes in Hollywood today. I only watch them if they are produced by filmmakers that I admire such as Peter Jackson. Most remakes are just ways for studios to make easy money without having to be creative.

The special effects might be better, but most of them just can't compare to the orginal. By the way did we run out of ideas that we Have to keep remaking movies????

I`m not sure. Some movies just cannot be remade cuz they were so good the first time. Then, there are some that ,no matter how many times they get re-made, it doesn`t help, they still suck. And, of course, there`s a few that get better every time they get re done. So I guess it depends on the movie, who`s directing, who`s doing the screen play and acting.

No, I think there would not be second Titanic, Invisible Man or Omen. I think it is a bad idea. I even don't like too much 2nd editions like continuations. because the 1st movie use to be amazing and after several series this movie, actors and everything else just dissapoint you. Look at MAtrix, Star Wars. That's too risky.

Movie remakes are great. They give you modern versions of classics.

I hate them because they're ALWAYS worse than the original versions. I say don't tamper with something that's been done.
