I breed several subspecies including these two for reptile food.My Beardies just love em....as do the Monitors, turtles, baby gators.I find that the Chams and Day geckos love em too.Leopards not so much.Probably because the are fast and a Leopard would rather eat slow food items given the preference. My Cresties like the lobsters.....
The taste I suspect has a lot to do with the food items fed to the roaches.I feed mine a mostly kitten food covered in the milk/chicken layer combo with vegetable peelings. My Beardies grow large and fast on them.I grow mine in a huge tub with lid.I cut out a hole in both ends on the sides and hot glue screen over the hole for ventilation.I keep them on aspen pellets made for pellet stoves. There are then placed on end the 24 egg egg carton cardboard glued 10 together.I use a jar waterer with paper towel in the ring around the jar to keep drowning to nil.clean once a week and the odor is almost none existant. When I want to feed them to my critters,I use a smaller tub with lid and shake in an amount, close the lid and toss em in the frig for 10 minutes. They are out like a light.I toss them in and when they wake, they start moving .......lets just say they don't usually last long enough to climb....=} Z

I tried to respond to your message, but your email won't work.
I use to belong to a breeder's group, of 5 breeders in my county. We bought vaccines in large quantities, and saved a bundle. We took turns recieving the vaccines, and distributing them to each other.
One day a breeder called me to tell me she was bringing over my vaccines. She arived about an hour later, though she only lived 30 minutes away.....My litter of puppies caught Parvo....I learned too late, that the phone rang as Donna was leaving, and my vaccines sat in the car for 20 minutes, in the heat, while she talked on the phone.....I lost all 5 puppies...
The most common place for breeders to buy vaccine is at the feed store. Mimum wage earners don't always make sure that the vaccines are unpacked and refrigerated immediately, so often they have been ruined (they are no good if they get over 55 degrees)
Since my Parvo heartache, I buy my vaccines at my vet's clinic, and pay 3 times the price.
I am so sorry for your loss. These little guys are just too precious to lose to such a horrible disease... My prayers are with you and yours.
