Spiders are good for your garden and house. They eat other nasty bugs. I let a wolf spider live under the clapboard on my deck. The web was beautiful and if we threw a fly or even gently shook the web, he came out and did his thing! Great fun to watch.
Maybe some of you arachnophobics can rethink the spider thing.
Mites are a different story.

I freaking hate spiders, and kill them whenever I see them! Wax Myrtle has a natural insecticide, but I don't know how effective they'd be against spiders. Marigolds too. You'd probably be better off getting a liquid or granulated Durban and sprinkling a one foot barrier around the perimeter of your house. They won't hurt your plants either.

Why in the world would you want to get rid of wolf spiders? Let them be. They are they barrier that is keeping your house from being invaded by a huge variety of insects like roaches, flies, beatles, waterbugs, pincherbugs, etc. Many people purposely introduce wolf spiders to crops to keep out the other bugs and since spiders eat other bugs primarily and not vegetation they are quite welcome.
