I'm not new to ebay and I STILL get emails and (bills) that I don't understand! Lol! Do not make the transaction! It is against ebay rules to do so! He must either use the buy it now option or go through the bidding process. The thing seems fishy since he not only expects you to break the rules, but he also wants you to ship out of the country. You need to go to the ebay homepage and in the right hand corner there is a ? and "Live Help" link. Click it and talk to a rep about it. You should definitely report the email. Good luck hon!!!

This is very familiar to scams that have been going on for some time now. You are cautious for a reason so follow through with that. Ask a ton of questions and feel out the responses that you receive to make your decision. I personally have had several emails that sound very familiar to this one to items that I have been selling that turned out to be scams. Please be very, very careful with this. At a glance, i'd say it's a scam and I would end all contact with this individual.

Don't go for it, first its against the rules as it bypasses all Ebay's seller protection , and secondly it sounds more like someone has a stolen Paypal and wants the item posted before its owner notices and Paypal reclaims the money back from you....

in the ask seller a question box it clearly says.

is this message an offer to buy your item directly through email without winning the item on eBay? If so, please help make the eBay marketplace safer by reporting it to us. These "outside-of-eBay" transactions may be unsafe and are against eBay policy. Learn more about trading safely.

I'm sorry...yes. it sounds very dangerous indeed. NEVER give out your account info. Legitimate transactions can happen without compromising your acount.

Other clues:
- says he's a Doctor. ...confidence builder...don't believe it.
- urgent...for a birthday? come on! (this is to get you to hurry, not think)
...there's more, but you can see them yourself if you look...i encourage your own critical reading practice.
