200 million years of instinct, driving them to survive. Yeah, they just know that moving things contain sweet "juice"!

I heard they're attracted to carbon dioxide in your breath. So, if you're a living, breathing soul, they're locked on to you. But some vitamins help. If I'm not wrong, take additional B12. It's one of the B's, not sure which though. If you ever go up to Alaska, watch out. It's absolute murder up there. I went into the back country and ran up a mountain just to get away from them. Evil bastards. If you're looking for a good bug spray, make sure it has 60-90% Deet. That's the active ingredient that keeps the bugs off you. If you get some of it on your lips accidently, it'll keep them numb for a good 5 minutes. Don't setlle for the pesky 3% stuff. That works better as a watered down sports drink than insect repellant.

The same way you know to harvest food and eat it or kill an animal and cook it and eat it. Think about it. If there was no such thing as a grocery store, you'd have to hunt or pick your next meal from a field or tree. Its particularly interesting how they inject a mild pain killer first to numb the area, so most people/animals don't notice they got sucked on until they are done and gone and it starts to itch a day or 2 later.

mosquitos see heat like u see through thermal cams and stuff, and they feed off of blood like fleas and ticks but only female mosquitos bite u and i think those big things that look like mosquitos are the males and u don't have to worry about those biting wise.

It's a natural instinct when one is in search of food. Just like a baby sucking milk from its mom.
