I am not sure if I believe in reincarnation but it might give you pause for thought to look at archetypal analysis. Carl Jung believed that our consciousness was comprised of bits and pieces of different models which he described as archetypes. You might also check out what he though about the universal unconsciousness which he believed we share as human beings. On a different note you may also check out Dr. Rupert Sheldrakes views on morphic resonance and formative causation. That should give you plenty to consider for the next few years.
