I would like to visit Chichen Itza and have heard that it is better to stay overnight and go visit the ruins early in the morning to beat the tourists. Which hotel should I stay at?

I think Mayaland is the best option. Uxmal is another archeological zone located about 3 hours from chichen itza. At bestday.com.mx you will find more hotels in Chichen Itza. I recommend you to visit Chichen Itza at night to see the sound and light show.
