This is from a mans perspective (who use to be a 15 yo boy) who's also a parent.

I cant speak for all parents but for me, what i want from my sons is the best. That is, to be sucessful in life and grow up to be good husbands, good fathers, good providers and good men.

easy huh!...but to achieve this however is another story.

Parents understand that the better the education means the better the job offers which means better money and better opportunities and overall a better chance at success in life.

Parents understand that your environment and what you're exposed to and how you interact and play with your family and friends and how they interact with you can determine what kind of man you grow up to be.

Take for example if a child is beaten everyday by his parents, theres a high chance he will beat on other people as well as his own kids.

A child who is brought up in an alcohol, drug and gambling environment will inheret those same traits in their life also. which means a high possibility of having a jobless, crime ridden and broken family life. (how do you think the kids in his family would turn out?)

This is why parents have all these restrictions on their children, it really is...for their own good.

Your parents will guide you to the best of their ability and they will invest in you a small fortune througout your entire life in an attempt to give you the best opportunities. So be open minded and understanding, no matter how strict, how unfair or how unrealistic you may think their demands are.

in essance...to be a good son (or daughter) all you need, is to just do as you're told and to the best of your ability :)

Im not a 15 year old boy but I do have a suggestion. Rather than getting answers from boys your age who are probably asking the same question you should ask other Moms and Dads on here who can tell you what they want from their teenage children. Im guessing they want stuff like respect, good grades in school, drug and alcohol free and a clean room. The list can go on, I hope you get some good answers and I think it is really sweet you want to be good for your parents. Good luck!
And as for the two guys who said he is pathetic if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all. He wants to be a good son and by doing this he is going to grow up to be respected and probably be a better person than the two of you. Geez, give the kid a break.

Well you can try not to be so embarrassed by them because when you see someone with theyre parents do you care that they are? You can also try to just have fun with em even if it might mean sacraficing something in return. All I can say man is that all you really need to know is that all that matters is what you think and not what anyone else thinks.

Love your parents.
Believe it or not they have your best interest in mind.
Always ask what you can do for them before you take off. Then let them know where you are. You might need their help sometime so it is good for them to know.
Don't try to be a know it all and let them teach you things. They won't be on your case all the time if you let them know you are willing to learn what they have to teach you.
You would be smart to learn about your Father in heaven too.

Do as your told. Do not question what your parents say. If you have a disagreement, Ask to discuss it.. Keep communication open. Keep your ears open, you may not like to hear what they have to say, but be open minded. You follow this, you will impress your parents.....
