They weigh the same. What do you take us for, idiots?

Both weigh the same, obviously, so neither is lighter, but you're going to get more feathers than pieces of iron per pound... Clearly, the feathers will occupy more space because you'll need more feathers to make a pound than you do iron. Iron's dense, feathers are not.

There are fewer grams in a troy pound (373.2417216 g) than in an avoirdupois pound (453.59237 g). But no matter which way you look at it, one avoirdupois pound of ANYTHING weighs one avoirdupois pound. To quote a Wiki article: "If neither “avoirdupois” nor “troy” is specified, nowadays the international pound (avoirdupois) is meant and is by law the only proper definition".

The only way to have feathers weigh more than iron is to have one avoirdupois pound of feathers (453.59237 g) and one troy pound of iron (373.2417216 g) There are two problems with doing this. Since the troy measurment system is only used for precious metals and some gems, you can't weigh iron this way - it isn't precious; and when you measure on two different scales, it is not scientifically valid to compare the two...

So, the answer remains: Neither is heavier.

Definitely a pound of Iron!, 'cause a pound of feathers can fly away with a whiff of air where as the iron cannot!!!

"So a pound of Iron is always heavier than a pound of Feathers" (proved by simha's first FEATHER law)!!!!

They weigh the same, but a pound of feathers is more fun to play with.

They both have the same weight namely a pound. A pound of iron is more dense.

They would weigh the same but there would be a lot more feathers than iron.

They are of equal weight. Now there will be more feathers than iron, but they will weight the same thing

for this question both weigh the same...the question should read "which weighs more...a pond of gold or a pond of feathers"..in that case, a pound of feathers weighs more...gold is measured by troy weight, which has 12 ounces to the pound...feathers are measured by avoirdupois weight, which has 16 ounces to the pound...
