Riiiiiiiight.
I think a nuclear bomb shelter stocked with a renewable source of energy, food rations for 6 months, and a few assault rifles would serve you well. But if you only invest in assault rifles, where are you going to store them when the big one is dropped? You see, if you invested in stocked bomb shelters all around the neighborhood, connected by tunnels, you could potentially be king of the world.
Go for it, man. Start trenching away!

But when society falls, money will cease to have any value.
And when the ammo runs out, what good will your assault rifle be then?

If you live in Somolia, sure. I say diversify! Get enough weapons supplies in your home that you can without calling attention from the Feds. Put a little money into a food storage, and then most important, deoderant. The better you smell, the hotter the chick come end of the world.

You only need one gun - spend the rest on ammo.
In all seriousness, though, the future isn't certain. There may come a time when you need a gun, but there is also a good chance that you are going to live a long, uneventful life and wish you had money for retirement.

property .. burial grounds, funeral service providers, etc and emergency medical suppliers are more required and more towards caring than the opposite.. investing in weapon supplies means you can be only on one side.. and it can be used more than once.. and usually continues form person to person.. where as what's suggested comes as a support to any side.. and you're always helping them.
