If its for a school project, why aren't you studying and getting the answer(s) yourself? You know, actually reading text books can be very helpful! Why would it matter what is it according to him? A better question is: What is it according to you???? He had his chance at life and being a man, he shared his views on all of it. He's DEAD! You're here now, alive, living it.... redefine it, take it a step further! Why don't you think for yourself? Are your viewpoints and opinions any less than someone like him? If so, ask yourself WHY?

Paul's answer might get you the most marks, but Freud was preoccupied with neurotic behaviours, particularly that which was formed by some unusual aspect of our childhood, which thereafter determined our sexual interest.

Actually Freud considered that every person has three parts to their personality. He called these parts the id, the ego, and the superego. Here is a page that summarizes it...

according to freud's concept,man obeys only to insticts above logic. AGRESSION and SEXUALITY (that is, to satisfy one's sexual needs).
Note that Freud referred to humans, but at his times, humans where only men...
