No its is not bad, As you said it is early development, All girls start at different times.
Just remember the earlier you start, the earlier you stop.
So if you start early, take that into condition when planning your family.
Your change will come much earlier, which is not a bad thing,
I haven't had no monthly prombles since I was 35.
And believe me girl, that is a blessing.
Wishing you the best

Girls are actually starting earlier these days. So, no, it is not bad. I was 11 when I started, and a girl that I knew growing up started when she was either 9 or 10.

My oldest daughter had just turned 9 when she started having them. Maybe that means you will go through the change of life early and quit having them early also.

My daughter started her periods when she was 8 - she is now 11 and is an 'old hand' at it now !! She is very mature about it and copes remarkably well with her early development.

I was in the 5th grade, it is bad that you have to go through this that much earlier, but hopefully they will even out and you will be used to your period and when your friends start to get theirs you can be their voice of reason and experience, so just consider yourself lucky in the fact that you can help your best friends whem the time comes for them.

Actually the more time goes by the earlier girls are starting. The reason is becase of all the chemicals (growth hormones, etc.) they feed animals to make them grown faster and bigger for people to eat. So, yeah it IS normal....Good luck, and stock up on Midol.

10? No, I don't think so. I started at 11.
I think it's a bit early, but compared to everyone else, I have no idea.

seems i m the 'oldest' one to start among all here. i had mine when i was 12.
dont worry, it comes sooner or later, as other said, the earlier it starts, the earlier it finished.
and i agree with 'cheryl L'...tat our diet nowadays changed as compare to the old days, tat changed including our menstruations too. girls now start to have period younger.
in western countries, ppl tend to eat more meat and dairy products. while in the east, e.g.china, ppl eat more soya and veggies and cannot take milk. tat so called 'lactose-intolerance'.
