My mom does not talk about my sister's biological dad. This is why I want to find out for myself to see why both my parents have been lying to me for years. My sister was born in 1986 and my mom was not married to my dad. she did not even know him yet.

If your sister was born in 1986 , then she is 20. She should be the one trying to find out who her Father is. Of course, that is if she wants to. It would be nice if you could assist her. There are websites where you can post information [ such as her name, where she was born , when , her Mother's name , etc.] The more info. , the better.
Hopefully, someone would read it , who might be able to help. One website I know of helped a friend find me. We hadn't been in touch for 40 years.. Somebody else who knows me told me that she saw the post and that someone was looking for me. So, I went and checked it out... and we were happily reunited. The website is : Who me.com I'm sure there are other sites as well. But I know that this one worked for me. There is also Myfamily.com that may be helpful. They helped me find my sister , with a different last name, in another state. She didn't even know I exsisted. We had a wonderful reunion [ in person]. So encourage your sister to check out these sites, they are free. And good luck in the search. God bless you and speed your efforts.

Probably the only place your sisters bio-father is listed is on her birth certificate ... and there is a possibility it isn't listed there either. Your sister can get a copy of her birth certificate from the state she was born in.

There may be court records in regards to child support orders with his name on them. I don't know if these records are public access. You can check with the state these would have been filed in.

Best bet ... have your sister ask your mother for the name of her bio-father. If she won't, and you have but they won't tell you, then trying to find/see a copy of the birth certificate is best bet.

In short, no, there is probably not a way online to find out this information.
