hospital for 2 days.. the nurses left used needles on your bed and in the floor around your bed AND upon release they told you to walk out of the hospital instead of getting you a wheelchair because you didn't have insurance??

File a complaint.
1. They should NEVER leave used needles lying around. That's why there is a needle dispose box in each room.
2. They shouldn't make u walk out of the hospital. I had my gall bladder out too. It is not easy to walk to the elevator, ride it down, get out and walk outside and to the car.

REPORT THEM NOW!!!!! Before someone else has to go through this neglect.I was uninsured too, and because of the severe damage to my liver and pancreas the gall bladder caused I was hospitalized for almost 2 weeks. I got prime medical care, a private room (luckily that's all they had available) and a shot of Demerol every four hours. Just because some of us cannot afford insurance doesn't make us lesser human beings.

OMG!!! It's according to what you want the outcome to be. If you want to just get this cleared up so it does not happen to others than I would let the Administrator of the hospital know, he/she should be concerned because all you mentioned is a liability. If you want them to get into trouble then call the ombudsmen in your area and let them know of your complaints. This office will investigate the situation and will take action. This office may call in the department of health and they will visit the facility to check this out, this is called a complaint survey. The facility/hospital you were at can be cited and will have to pay a fine every day until they can show they have done something to alleviate the problems. What you experienced is not the norm for any health care facility it goes against standard percautions for infection control (needles) and the facility is responsible for you until you leave the property so not putting you in a wheelchair upon discharge is a liability.

Make a written complaint to JAHCO. Inform your state board of nursing, make a formal complaint to the hospital,

Make a complaint to the STATE you live in.

File a complaint with the HOSPITAL.

Write letters to your congress person.

Document everything. Dates, Times, Items etc.
