It is a child, not a mistake that can be swept underneath the carpet.
If thats not convncing enough, well, many girls have died from this pill.
Its not right to kill a living thing inside of you.
NOT RIGHT!
Its so sad.....

Well if your unsure a decision will be made for you in about 9 months. Is Tylenol wrong? Most would say no. But you still have the right to choose. Most over the counter drugs like NyQuil, Midol, Aleve and many others have acetaminophen in them. By its self its fine, but when combined with other over the counter meds they can make someone go into liver failure. There are no warnings about that.
Now back to your question. First and foremost I do not think that it should ever be considered a form of birth control. There are clinics for that. However, it is for the women to decide whether or not that is a decision for her or not. For example would you want to carry around a child just because you were raped? I find that cruel.
I feel that it is the females right to choose, however be responsible about it as well. To reiterate its not a form of birth control, but should be made available.

Well- Sexually active women and men do need to take responsabilities for themselves and the children they create. BUT I do believe that if the prescribing doctor studies the situation correctly, then this pill shouyld be alloud to be administered.
A 14 year old girl should not be forced to give birth to her own fathers child. If life is SO valuable to those who are opposed, then why would you consider an unborn-unfirtalized (it takes time for sperm to travel) 'baby' to be more important than that 14 year old girl who was rapped by her own father? I think that this type of pill would be the best solution for this situation.
Is there ANYONE out there who could argue that? Does anyone think that the 14 year old should give birth to her own half brother/sister? Should that dirty man be alloud to produce a son who is also his grandson? Should that baby have to grow up to be a drooling retard just because his father/grandfather was a jerk and his poor mother/sister didn't have ANY choice? Please, tell me how that is right? Should she just get an abortion? Is that better? Should she give the baby up for adoption and let someone else raise the retard and then tell him why he was given away?
People need to move on and let others make their own choices and mistakes in life. Let them do that, and they will find a way to do some good.

No. It's an emergency contraceptive. It cannot end an existing pregnancy. It can only prevent a possible pregnancy from taking place and even that is not guaranteed.
(Editing to add - Several people answering this question seem to be confusing the morning after pill with RU-486. They are not the same drug. EC contains the same ingredients as regular birth control pills. It prevents ovulation, fertilization and implantation. Most of the women who take it would not have become pregnant, even if they hadn't taken it, some women who take it become pregnant anyway -- same as if they'd been on regular birth control.)

Right. If you are protecting yourself but the condom., breaks, slips, forget to put it on, whatever, why should you have to worry about it when your intent was to protect yourself in the first place? The morning after pill is a good thing for when those accidents happen as you can still protect yourself from pregnancy to some degree with this pill.

i personally don't think its about wrong or right - but rather, about a girl's health - taking the morning after pill is pretty bad for your eggs and stuff.. it could result in the inability to have a baby! BUT, i guess when it IS needed then its like the greatest thing on earth .. cuz you get to prevent something of which is an accident (or a rape, etc) - anyways, girls/women should not take too much of this cuz i hear that its pretty bad for your body - you might be happy now but there WILL be consequences later on in your life - when you want a precious little baby you might not be able to have one and that will be the saddest moment of your life

I dont think its wrong, If your not ready for children then I say take the pill, theres nothing I hate more is to hear a woman complaining that shes pregnant and she's not happy about and wish it didnt happen, if abstinence isnt your thing then dont sweat it.

I don't think it's wrong at all. Used all the time, the girl may have something wrong with her (mentally), but used for what it is, EMERGENCY contraception, it's a great product. I don't view it any different than I view regular birth control.
Think of it this way: A virgin is raped. She goes to the ER. They give her EC. Why is that wrong? It's NOT. She had no reason to be on BC, and she needs EC.
I'll add that I DO agree with gnomes31. If you're having sex, you should be on BC. Period.

Its not wrong, it provides a safe option for women who don't want to become pregnant. If you do not oppose contraception (and if you are not catholic then I don't know why you would be), then I'm not sure why you would think it is 'wrong'. Women may need it for a variety of reasons, ie rape, broken condom, missed pill, I think since we have the technology, it would be wrong not to provide it. I myself have used it twice, and was thankful it was available to me.

I think it's wrong for this reason: Responsibilty. I am female and I wish that other females would learn some responsibility and take control of their bodies before a child is conceived. We know we have no desire to become pregnant, so why aren't we being responsible and doing what is necessary to prevent conception in the first place (Abstinence/ Celibacy until marriage, Birth control, Chemical sterilization, and, even, Surgical sterilization)? Some people would argue that the Morning After Pill is a form of Birth Control, I, obviously, do not see it as such, I see it as a way to not be responsible for ones actions, a cop out. If we would learn to be accountable and responsible for our actions, behaviors, and bodies this sort of thing would never be necessary, but I guess asking some women to be better Human Beings is asking far too much of them.

I think if you need it use it, but I do have a problem with the lazyness. It wouldn't kill you to take precautions instead and if your having unprotected sex that's not cool either in this day and age.
