(f-h)(x) = f(x) - h(x) = x/(x-1) - 1/(x-1) = (x-1)/(x-1) = 1.

In these type of functions you should do the function associated with the given function. For example
If f(x) = 2x, g(x) = 43
Then (f-g)(x) = 2x - 43. This is the basic principle involved in this problem.
Comming to your question,
(f-h)(x) = {x/(x - 1) } - { 1/(x - 1) } = (x-1) / (x-1) = 1
Here there is no need of the function g(x)
Therefore (f-h)(x) is a constant function
