Come on! I know many of you hated school while young (and you blamed everyone else), and many of you benefitted greatly from some hard knocks.

Dare to share?

I kept it real while young, but I was a bit of a late bloomer -- too curious about and interested in EVERYTHING. Nailing it down was soo hard to do.

Now, I'm enjoying my teaching career and traveling like I've always wanted to do.

I knew I never wanted to just go to college, but to do more, do something bigger than myself, my own little world. What do you want to do? What do you want to have, become, your dreams, hopes and desires? You can find those answers anywhere, if you just know the questions. I found my answers to my personal desires by enlisting in the Army 21 years ago. Now I have a wonderful, loving fiancee (wedding on Aug 4th), a child on the way and all the material things I desire (including my degrees). I am happy. I made sure I did what it took to be happy. I will retire in 5 years and probably won't have to work again, neither of us....but again, that is just what I wanted....what do you want?

Actually just now. It's taken me 37 years to finally get my s**t straight but aside from being flat broke I really don't regret any of it. Although I have put myself through hell, I'm a better person because of it and finally have my head in the right place to do what needs to be done. I'm registering for school July 10th. I hope to have my AA degree before 2009. I am a single mom raising 3 children so I have to work and go to school at the same time so it's going to take a little longer but like I said it's o.k. THIS IS MY TIME!!!! I know what I have to do and I'm ready to do it. Yes I've had my share of hard knocks and could blame several people but there comes a time when you have to stop blaming everyone else and start taking on responsibility for your actions. And yes I think I have benefitted from those hard times.

After I was kicked out of the University of **** for terrible grades caused by way to much partying. Its been 5 years and I've regretted not putting more effort into it and seeing all my college friends succeed and make great money. Its been a hard road but I start back up in the fall. Scared as hell but I know its the best move. Turning 30 this year so no time like the present.

Dear Big Bear Ron,
I know just what you're talking about.I am 51 and it took me till I was 40 before I found out who I really was.I knew my Dad is American Indian and what bands my ancesters were, but the real eye opener was the sweats I started going to.And the grand epipheny was my first "Sundance".Everything fell into place, all the things my Granny had taught me,the things my Dad had said as I was growing up,Suddenly made sence.I knew I had to keep learning
more.So here I am an eternal student of the "Red Road" so I can
be with the Grandfathers and Grandmothers when I pass.
Sincerely, Quati Tsali

well, I always love to learn but hate home works, so I didn't do too well before college. It too me a while to find my true passion for live which was around 30s. However, for every curves and turns I put in all my effort to do the best I can so I didn't waste any of my life. Life is too short and we much love what we are doing. Good luck.

Most definately. I realized school was important and I wasn't just going to make it on a highschool diploma when I was 19 or 20. Then I got pregnant had my daughter. Now at 22 I know life isn't something that you are given, it is something that you have to make the best of. Now not only do I have to support me, but I have my daughter to look after. It took several times of falling on my a** to realize that its not going to be easy.

I got real about education in college, when I realized I needed the education to make something of my life, provide for children in the years to come and when I realized " I " would be the one paying back the student loans--not my parents.

As a dreamer i ought to correctly be both.. i am going to quite stay my existence and did it daringly so, even more beneficial than i ought to ever dream of..some had its merely excellent outcomes and the others changed into stupid and worst. on the different hand even as i comprehend it should be so relieving from some longings and needs in existence, i ought to in ordinary words undergo of dreaming about it..Then together may have the time to imagine that if in the destiny those desires should be fulfilled even as it really is excellent..... with somewhat of success. real dreamers ought to correctly be bold and wild with their intimate passions from the desires they carry to cherish each and every second even as they placed it into truth. not in any respect to dare it properly reason they could have a lot longing it really is being repressed than imagined.

Even though I'd always made good grades, I didn't start to take school seriously until I lost my scholarship recently. So when I enter school this fall, it will be with a different attitude and more focus.
