If Color alone, then F is definitely better.

COLOR:
d, e, & f : being colorless
g, h, i, & j : being near colorless
j, k, L, m, n, and so on: yuck!
I dont recommend anything after I(i).

There's much more to it than just color. Theres also cut, clarity, and the obvious carat. Carat is easy because you decide how big you want it.

The proper Cut is important because that determines how much brilliance you get out of it. a D colored VVS diamond is nothing without the proper cut. You want the Ideal Cut.

Clarity will or will not show you how much "stuff" there is inside the diamond. If you see black specks, its called carbon. White "cracks"(there are no cracks inside diamonds)are called feathers, etc, etc...all of which are inclusions. The less you see the better.

When buying a diamond, make sure you get to look at what you see. That means not just some dinky little hand-held eye loupe. You want to see that sucker in a big Gemscope that is at least 10x powered. That way, you really get to see the true "characters" of the stone.

This is the range of Clarity...
FL, IF, VVS1, VVS2, VS1, VS2, SI1, SI2, I1, I2, I3
highest grade............................. very low, you can see "stuff"

There's too much to talk about, but these are very brief notes about the 4 C's...enjoy!

If you do buy a certified GIA diamond, make sure it really is from the Gemological Institute of America. It should be blue&white, with a bar code, hologram sticker, all that jazz...

The diamond is defined by a grade, starting at (d-e-f) which is colorless going up to (s-t-u-v-w-x-y-z), which is a tinted diamond, usually visibly yellow to the naked eye.
So that means that f is better
