Why does your mom want you to leave them alone? If her reasons sound solid, then see if you can compromise -- at least wear stockings or jeans to cover them.
You need to talk to your mom as a growing woman, not the child she (might) still remember you by. As you share your thoughts with you, it will enable her to see the situation more clearly -- and, it will help the two of you to communicate more freely about other issues.
I believe in respecting my parents. Their wisdom and stuff. But your mom needs to understand how difficult it is for you to concentrate on your studies and listen to your teacher when the attention is on you, and not the instruction.
Take care. And remember, this, too shall pass.

Sorry about the teasing at school. Sometimes it is extremely difficult for a mother to think of her child as a grown up. I believe you need to let her experience this from your side by trurly telling her how the situation is particularly at school. Try bringing in a 3rd person like your aunt or a close family friend, her age. She might truly know that you want to do it, and there is a problem when you dont. I hope you will be able to convience her, and am sure in time you will

First of all, it depends on how old you are. You need to discuss with your Mom that other kids are teasing you and the reasons why you think you're old enough to start shaving your legs. What is her reasons for NOT wanting you to shave?
And....well....not that I would ever tell anyone to disobey their parents...but shaving IS kind of a personal decision....so what is the worst possible thing that could happen if you did it anyways?

If you're a girl then just shave them. As long as you're not like under 13 or something. Just know that when you start, you can't ever stop! If you're a boy, just don't worry about it. Kids at school will always be mean. Keep your chin up.Shaving them will only make things worse and even hairier. Good luck

Awww hun, no worries, my friend went through the same thing, her mom didnt want her too, but she just did it anyways, her mom got used to the fact that her baby was growing up, and that things change, including their appearence. Just do what you think is right! My friend just shaved..so if you can deal with your mom freaking out a few times, then go for it hun. Good Luck!

I had the same problem..my mom didn't want me to shave my legs either. Just say "Mom can I shave my legs?" and if she says no again then just ask her why? And then after she tells you why convince her to let you shave your legs. Or just shave them anways..she'll get over it :P

It is very unusual for a parent to object to their daughters shaving their legs. Perhaps she feels you are too young to start but she should know the pressure you are under. Try to talk i tout with her. She means well but perhaps is too old fashioned.

ask her if its the shaving that bothers her or if its about the growin up that bothers her, maybe she just doesn't want you playing with sharp razors and you can get some nair or something instead. have you told her that the kids are being very cruel to you because of it?

Try using a product called Veet. It is a dilpiliatory foam that is removed by a bladeless razor like device. Otherwise there is waxing but YEEOUCH!
