She calls me an tells me a story about something that has happened to her or someone else. If I say anything other than, oh, really, hmmm. She gets mad. I'm not allowed a thought, opinion, not really even allow to comment. I guess I am just a sounding board that shouldn't speak.

Seems she just wants to tell me long extended stories. I am tired of not being able to voice and opinion or comment. She gets to have her opinion.

I'm thinking that maybe she could just leave the story on my answering machine and I could listen to it at my convenience. If I get a chance to say something than she says, "Oh I didn't want to talk so long. I just wanted to tell you that."

Keep your kool and chill out. she just needs someone to listen and not advice her. Ask her upfront next time if she wants you to listen or give advice. people are just like this you are probably a good person to listen to her that is why she phones you. That's ok every one needs this sometimes but she must return the favour or she is not a good friend or relative.

Whoa..that would really piss me off if someone did that to me..why bother calling you in the first place if she doesn't want you to comment?! Just let her know how ur feeling about this and simply ask her what exactly she expects from you when she calls? Good luck!

You make the call. You can choose to listen, or you can say, "not right now I have to be in the mood to listen attentively".

Something to that effect. Nonetheless, you start setting the pace for when she wants to use your ears.

Peace Out.

Honesty is the best policy.

Tell her that you don't like being shut out when she tells you a story. That you are going to make comments about it, and if she doesn't like it, she may want to rethink telling you.
