If you feel comfortable in your present field (and enjoy it), I'd check out the courses offered in the same major at a nearby college.
And, in choosing between a film major vs. TV news / broadcasting, the choice would focus on whether you want to use your talents to tell a story / entertain vs. report the news.
Listen to your heart.

Depends on your personality. If you love being in the mix, business, maybe? Get the skills you need to call the shots the either: a.) the skills will be taught, or b.) will come. Or, if you're more a behind the scenes, get in that dark room with an IPOD and learn the in's and out's. Be the one they call to fix that killer clip that was killed.

You honestly do not need a college education to get into editing. The movie and TV industry value work experience much, much more than what you majored in.

i'd commence searching contained in the seen arts section. incredibly on your extra artistically susceptible colleges there's a significant for 'movie', maximum paintings colleges and different colleges with a good paintings software must have the variety of options you're searching for.
