My pop used to play this song long ago. I belive it's a 50's song. I know that a line in the song is "I only have eyes for you" I am not sure if that is the title of the song though

Excellent question!

There were actually 4 versions that made the charts:

The original was by the Flamingos. It was released in 1959 and peaked at #11.

The Letterman recorded a version in 1966 and that climbed to No. 72.

Jerry Butler released it in 1972 but it only got to #85.

In 1975 Art Garfunkel (of Simon and Garfunkel fame) released a version that made it all the way to #18.

Although I'm a Jerry Butler fan, I don't remember his version but the other 3 were excellent. If it was a song your pop used to play you probably want the Flamingo's version.

I hope that answers your question.

This is The Flamingos, a Gary, Indiana group. They had a hit with this song in 1959. Beautiful old doo-wop song. One of my very favorites from the 50's.

It's probably "I Only Have Eyes For You" by The Lettermen.
