The best thing to do if you are worried about sun damage is to visit a dermatologist. Have them do a complete skin evaluation noting the "ABCDE's" of any spots you have on your skin. The A is for area, B is for boarders (regular or irregular), C is for Color (is it brown or black) D is for diameter (should be less than 1 cm) E is for elevation (should be flat.) A dermatologist will examine your skin and may biopsy any moles or spots that they are concerned about, not only for melanoma, but also for any other changes associated with sun exposure.

A good dermatologist would be a good place to start. If they can't do it, ask them for referrals. Don't just go to the local pharmacist for info regarding your skin. Its delicate enough so take care what you put on it or how long you expose it to UV rays. If there's no dermatologist in your area, maybe in Vancouver they have skin clinics.

on a cosmetic note, if you went for a facial, some beauty salons have machines that you stick your face into and a special blue light makes all of your sun spots and drypatches visible which are usually invisible to the naked eye. if you need to look deeper, then you'd have to find some sort of skincare clinic.

Go to your regular medical doctor, he will let you know and give you treatment for it, and if it is that bad he will refer you to a specialist.

I would think you may want to go a dermatologist.
