What I want to know about you 3rd shift workers is, ... is it true that they make you sign a "can't love anyone" contract when you begin the job? There is a wife here who says her husband doesn't love her anymore because he took on the 3rd shift. OR, perhaps this is out of a Steven king novel. Which is it?

Tonight is my day off. I get about 4 to 5 hours of sleep a day, and catch up on my weekend. Next week, I get 3 night off! More luxurious sleep! Awake right now because I'm trying to make myself tired...

I work what we call Swing Shift..8p to 4a....come home, stay up til 9 or 10...HOPEFULLY sleep til its time to go back to work. Sadly tho the real world demands I be up during my sleeping hours and that sucks. My family still doesn't understand I sleep days and call and ask "Did I wake you up " (been on the shift 12 years now).....aside from that...just worrying about day to day stuff keeps me up a lot

I use to be the midnight shift Captain of security at Casino in Immokalee.You get use to it.You got to keep focused on what ever your doing.I`m retired now but I still stay up late.But now I get to sleep in.

Technically speaking its first shift.
The new day starts at 12:00 am
I just function better on this shift.
I am nocturnal.

what keeps me awake? not my boss, not my co-worker, not coffee, but enthusiasm to finish all my jobs. enthusiasm to be productive and to contribute to the company i am working wiith.
