I forget who suggested this, but homefield advantage in the World Series should be decided by the overall record of interleague play during the regular season .

I think it sucks now that home field for the World Series is decided by who wins the All Star game. The game is to long with all the pitching changes that go on as well.

I think it's pretty boring---I also think they need to get rid of the whomever wins gets the home field advantage for the world series. Hasn't the AL won like the last 10 years in a row???

Its a popularity contest - take it away from the fans who vote several hundred times per person if they're at a ballpark - and let the players and managers decide. They should know who's the most deserving.
In order for it to mean something other than a ratings booster (?) for the TV network that carries it, it should mean something, so what's wrong with home field advantage? This might be the one good idea Bud Selig has come up with while he's commissioner.

The MLB All-Star Game used to be the bets of all the major sports ones as the two leagues used to fight for the rght to be considered the better league.
Home field advanatge should just rotate back and forth as it always did. It's not fair as the NL has been the weaker league in interleague play yet could win this one-off game and get home field.
Just go back to having the game be an exhibition game with nothing on the line. It worked OK in the past.

Yes I would change it.
The all star game used to be all league pride...but no longer.
Bud Selig has done nothing good for the game of baseball---and I will be so glad when he is no longer the "commisssioner"
Back in the day, Home Field Advantage switched ever year.
I also like to see the players be selected via a players poll.

I think that if it does decide homefield advantage then the fans need to not pick the lineup. How exactly does the best catcher not get the starting nod? This from a Tigers fan. Joe Mauer should be starting, no doubt. All the managers would have picked him. But stupid fans were picking Varitek for the longest time. You can make no argument for Varitek, worst hitter of mauer, pudge and himself, no arm to throw out baserunners, mauer is the best with pudge in second and varitek somewhere with the also rans. Why they have someone from everyteam in the game is also a stupid rule, if everyone on the team stinks, then guess what no one should be in the all star game. Also, how Ortiz beat Hafner, dumb, dumb, dumb.

If they are going to have home field for the WS decided by this game, then they have to do away with the rule that every team must be represented on the roster. C'mon does anybody think there is a Royal or a Pirate who deserves the tag "All-Star"?

I don't think the players would want to play in it if there wasn't home field advantage on the line. They wouldn't risk an injury for an exhibition game these days. Too bad the players just can't play for fun anymore. It's fun to watch, though! : )

I think the whole home advantage thing is fair because that is really the only way to determine that. The thing I would change is the way the voting works because it is pretty much a popularity vote, not who is actually doing the best.
