Between the top three RBs (LJ, LT, Shaun Alexander) ... go with LJ

Shaun Alexander is a solid RB that continues to rack up yards and TDs like a machine, but he will hit two walls this season: the loss of Steve Hutchinson on the offensive line & the Madden curse (but he could be the first to break it ... but look at the past players that have succumbed to it and where they are now)

LaDainian Tomlinson is also rock solid at RB, but with an unproven QB running the offense, defenses will focus more on LT and force Rivers to air it out. Also, LT is asking for more of an offensive role on the team (in other words, make him the offense) ... if Rivers is unable to perform and Whitehurst isn't able to pick up the pieces, then LT could be left out in the cold. Also, he took a wicked shot to the ribs in Week 12 and was never the same for the rest of the season.

Larry Johnson started only 9 games last season and racked up 1735 rushing yards and 20 TDs. IN ONLY NINE GAMES, he had a season that many RBs could only dream of. He will be unleashed and start all 16 games, which could actually give LJ the chance to be the first RB to reach 2500 yards in a season. Also, he could tap the 30 TD mark. If you want to build up points and have a fearful RB in your arsenal, Larry Johnson is your pick.

Shaun Alexander. A better overall team surrounding him, and even with losing Steve Hutchinson, he is the focal point of their offense, and has a nose for the end zone inside the 20. I'm not sold on Larry Johnson going a whole season at the pace he ended the last one, and Tomlinson will have to deal with 7-8 man fronts until Rivers can prove himself (you might remember, I don't believe Tomlinson had a TD in the first 2-3 games last year. It doesn't figure to get any easier).

You should take whoever you like the best of Larry Johnson, Shaun Alexander or Ladanian Tomlinson. None of those guys would be a bad pick at #1 overall. In my opinion if you pick anyone other then one of those three, you're making a mistake and wasting your pick. All you have to do is look at fantasy rankings on any site and you will see that there is a consensus that they are the top three, not always in the same order, but always the same top 3.

Gotta go with Larry Johnson. Alexander lost some of his offensive line and last year was his contract year. Too many questions in San Diego to take LT, if Rivers can't pass LT will see 8-9 guys in the box.

Also look at how your league scores, if a rushing TD is the same as a passing TD you might want to take a QB.

If Larry Johnson can continue the same same kind of production he had last year or even drop a little bit he will be the MVP of the NFL and every fantasy football league there is.

Tomlinson is the safe answer here, he's a given talent. Alexander would be a powerful choice IF they hadn't made adjustments to the O-line....he'll probably still do well just may take a week or two for them to iron things out. Larry Johnson can do well, but with the crappy core of recievers and KC's notoriously Run offence he'll get injured(ankle) or stopped enough to make him a great 3 or 4 pick but not number 1. My ranks:
1. - L.T.
2. - Alexander
3. - Johnson
4. - Barber
5. - Portis

I would go for Alexander. The Seahawks are going to try to run even more this year, and Alexander is getting all of the touches. With Johnson, when they get around the goal line, the touches will go to Holmes, which will limit Johnson's TDs and Yards.

Alexander is a great runner, and even with the loss of Hutchinson, he will still be the most dominant force on the Seahawks offence. I wouldnt expect anything short of what he did last year, and he could obtain even better numbers than last year.

I was going to respond to the insane amount of people that think someone other then Alexander, Tomlinson, or Johnson should be the #1 pick, but majik said it perfectly. If you aren't taking one of those 3 RB's 1st, you might as well take Charles Rogers (or in his words, Neil Rackers or Houston D) because you are doing yourself a disservice with the #1 pick.

NO QB'S IN THE FIRST ROUND EVER!!!!! I DONT CARE WHAT THE SCORING IS!!!!! DO NOT DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would pick Larry Johnson first also, but one word of caution. Al Saunders is no longer calling the shots in KC. Johnson might benefit and get more carries.

Larry Johnson needs to prove himself for a full year. I would take LT
