Hi the rain storm in Mumba on 4-july submerged my Honda Unicorn 150CC bike submerged in water for around 5-6 hours. Its a year old bike.

It got submerged till the base of the petrol tank. Most of the mechanics and engine were under water.

I am scared on what to do next. The storm has caused the service centers and local mechanics not to turn up.

I know a couple of donts like dont start the electrical start of any electrical lights. Anything else I can do ??

same as the above except make sure you take the/all spark plugs out (atthe same time ) and then turn the eng. over by hand (pushing it while it is n high gear) this will let any water that is in the cyclinder to excape without damageing the eng. after that put a little bit of oil down the spark plug hole and turn the eng.over again to lube the cyclinder up to keep it from rusting since more then likely there was at least some water that found its was into the eng. Do this NOW.... rust will form rather quickly so time is working genst you, good luck

Drain all your oil and gas

Add new oil and gas Let the electrical dry for acouple days
Try to start

It may run rough til the water is outa the carb

After starting let run for at least 1/2 hour to help dry the rest which water has contaminated

Drain the oil and let it dry out. Drain the carbs (screw on bottom of carb) check the air box for water, take a air hose and blow water out of the electrics, wouldn't hurt to drain the fuel tank. Let it dry out good, fill it with gas and oil and a new spark plug and Good Luck........
