BREAKING NEWS FLASH!!!**********hey! robin, i just looked at ur profile, see that ur in atlanta! a bit far to bring it here lol ;-) if you try and tackle that job you can also substitute a 1/4' drive socket for the torx bit (it will have to be a "12point"though,)i dont remember the size but its common in most regular tool kits ,in case you have some tools now.that will save you from having to buy the special torx bit.**********you will need 2 specialty tools to do the job,1 a steering wheel puller and 2 a small socket called a "reverse torx socket" and a couple of other common tools, first pull off the horn cover, then use the steering wheel puller to remove the steering wheel.next a phillips screwdriver to remove the turn signal handle, then loosen the screws to the turn signal mechanisim and move it off to the side (dont pull to hard on the wires) then you should see the "reverse torx" screws down inside the column.you will need a socket extension at this point(also use 1/4 inch drive tools.they fit down in the column better)tighten those up to get rid of the wiggle. if you live anywhere near auburn hills, michigan (by the palace where the "pistons" play) i can do that repair in my shop.its a $50 charge. dealers charge at least $100 or more. its about an hour/hour and a half job. if you buy the tools it will be around $30 your first time doing the job(if your mechanically inclined)maybe 3 hours?if you are local and would like me to do the job you can e-mail me through this site

I have a 94 firebird (trans am gt). You have to remove panels from under the wheel. THey just screw in, and there are a few plastic pins also that you have to pull out. From there you can see the bottom of the steering wheel column. Tighten up the bolts there. If you can't find them try watching it while moving the wheel, then you should see them.

What is loose are the four torx head screws that hold the steering wheel, and tilt housing which also contains you turn signal and ignitoin swith and lock cly to the steering colum. you need to take it to a good mechanic to get this fixed asap.

You will have to go in and tighten up the bolts. Not a big deal if you have any mechanical skill. You will have to pull the steering wheel and its base, then you can tighten the loose bolts...

Go to NAPA auto parts. There you can get a complete repair kit for the tilt mechanism in your car.
