This is very open to interpretation. I would say that the first scientist would be the first "person" (perhaps a predecessor of Homo sapiens) who thought, "What if I did this?", then proceeded to see what would happen. Science isn't limited to the laboratory or realm of philosophers. Everyone is a scientist just by learning things by trial and error.

Show me the first human, and I'll show you the first scientist. Humans, even on the most primitive level, are constantly learning about and analyzing our surroundings, and putting learned information to use. That is science.

First recorded scientist? Probably dating back to Mesopotamia, where originated the first written language.
