Come on now! My fatha played on the Phoenix Suns for like three years. This is pathetic he always say you the lost prodigy. Whatever that means. So what does prodigy mean? And why am I so bad, also *note* I'm 6'10 too.

I'm sure it's cuz you have way too much time on your hands which you spend on yahoo answers clowning rather than practicing.

Are you really Kevin Johnson's son?

I'm assuming that's who your father is, if he really was in the NBA.

Anyway, if you're 6'10, you can have pretty crappy skills and still make the NBA.

First, you need to practice your dribbling against an opposing defense. Maneuvering is the most important part.

Mastering your shot is also very important. Maintaining good hand-eye coordination is the best. Try closing one eye and practicing your shot...say, if you shoot with your right, close your left eye...

Being a big guy like yourself, I'd practice post-up moves and boxing out.

Practice is very important. Getting a good feel for the game is too. I only got better when I practiced by myself...if you're with other people, especially on a team or in pickup games, people can be very selfish or give you attitude. You weren't born good at basketball because you're black. You have to work at it, like your father did.

A 'prodigy' is someone's student, meaning they taught you 'everything they know' on a subject. It also means that a child that is a master of something at a young age. People use the term prodigy the way I first explained it (such as "Britney is Madonna's prodigy"), but it technically means the 2nd. Sorry for the confusion.

Just because you're black doesn't mean you've got a God given talent for basketball. Maybe you'd be better at another sport? My mom has a masters degree in science, but I want nothing to do with it. Get my drift?

Good luck! :)

Prodigy: unusually gifted or intelligent (young) person; someone whose talents excite wonder and admiration.

I'm a 5' 4" white woman and I played basket ball in Jr. High and High School. I was a starting point guard. There are alot of other thing I am good at as well.

I'm sure there are things in life that you do accell at. Just follow your passions and do what makes you feel good and you are good at. If I was pressured to be a cook, which I am horrible at I would feel like crap.

Just because you're black doesn't mean you have innate basketball talent. Try practicing or take up a different sport.

A prodigy is someone who shows signs of genius or talent at an early age. You just didn't get the basketball gene. You can excel at something else like music, science or art. Get an education and you will be fine.

Just cause your black doesn't make you good at basketball, truthfully the only reason black people are good at basketball is because its a cheap sport that they can play everyday.. it is the only sport where you can run , shoot and steal legally... try practicing.. oh and im tired of people saying all black people have big *****.. thats a rumor alot of black guys have big ***** and so do white guys.. just we white guys dont brag about it like black people

Listen I know that this may sound silly to you but I will attemp to explain it to you, and I ask your forgiveness if I make an error. First off you num-nut basket-ball is a tough sport to play and like any other major sport it takes years of training, many other basketball player started out at five years old trying to learn this game now please do not believe that because you are Tall Blackman or even a tall White man is all that is needed to play the game of basket ball it takes training and without the years of training and constantly praticing any man woman or child will suck at basket ball. Tiger Woods, began playing golf at age three. A prodigy is a child that shows promise at a young age and is therefore trained at an early age. And at 18 years old he or she has been training almost 365 days a years 8 to 10 hours a day for 18 years. Now its is not to late for you so I recomend that you find someone that is willing to train you correctly 5 to 6 day a week maybe 8 to 10 hours a day and who knows maybe even you can learn a thing or two, and maybe even you can learn something about the game called basket-ball. Another-thing There are no born all-ready trained basket ball players, they work their butts off. and at 6' 10" maybe you should start doing the same. another point in history only one out of tens of thousands if not hundred of thousands really make it in the big time after years of training.. and if what you said is true about your Dad, even he busted part of his butt off learning, and busterd the other half of his butt training to make it on a pro-team...........

Mean answer: BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO TALENT!
Nice answer: Just because your father is good you don't have to be good too. And being tall has nothing to do with it, either your good or not.
The Mean (continued): AND JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE BLACK YOU RACIST PUNK, DOESN'T MEAN YOU ARE GREAT AT BASKETBALL! SOME WHITES CAN BE JUST AS GOOD AS YOU BLACKS WHEN IT COMES TO BASKETBALL!!!

Maybe your dad cheated on your mom (assumeing shes black) and your real mom is white.....

LOL obviously a joke don't take any offense to it I wasn't meaning to sound racist......

Seriously though that means basketball isn't for you but if you refuse to except that just remember that a great player is one who makes his team better. (that quote made Shaq what he is today, according to Shaq not making this up)

I wanted to answer this seriously, but I couldn't dignify this with a serious answer. I thought about going sarcastic, but still, the same problem. So, I'll just take my two points and walk away shaking my head in shame b/c you would post some nonsense like this.
