I just got a lizard a couple of weeks ago and i noticed that it sleeps with one eye open..Why is that?

my iguana only does that when she feels uncomfortable about her surroundings.. they keep an eye on whats going on around them.. as your lizard gets comfortable with its new home, it will probably sleep with both eyes closed.

that s not good. to put it clearly: it is not sleeping, but trying to sleep but unable to sleep. isnt there something that disturbs it.

like some light or noise. like yes, if there is the TV on, the animal would see it and may be sleepless. if it "sleeps" with one eye open even after you all go to sleep, check for blinking standby light on hifi set or something like this

after a couple of weeks it should be already comfy in the new place, so it is strange. but yes, if there are people around in the room , it just cannot fall asleep before you go to sleep too, but then it should sleep ok.

what lizard? isnt it a night species, btw????

this is a good question for a pet store...but i would say to keep watch out for predators.
