Both free? Um, I don't think it is going to happen. My best suggestion is to try Geocities. (http://www.geocities.com) - they are partnered with yahoo so you can get http://www.geocities.com/youryahoonamehere but if you want www.myname.com - that is going to cost you, no matter where you go-

·No worries anymore when it comes to building a fully functional, up and running website for FREE! along with free domain name too!

Microsoft (free domain and hosting for life) ,
Google (Googlepages, Blogger) ,
Yahoo (Geocities),
Freewebs are some of the companies offering free websites with design tools .

For free, you are stuck with sites like geocities, which will give the space, and a 'sorta' personalized domain.
You will also have to deal with ads on your site.

It is really inexpensive to buy a true domain. I use hostfor2bucks.com
They have been my host for over 3 years now and I have been happy with them

Here is my site http://www.denisemarie.net

but no way to get free domains unless you actually sign up for hosting at one of these http://www.interkeys.com/tophosts sites

To host your site for free, I would highly recommend the following 2 sites.

Awardspace -> http://www.awardspace.com (PHP + MySQL)
50webs -> http://www.50webs.com

Both of these sites allow you to host for free and does not have any advertisement pop ups like those provided by geocities.

I have sites hosted on both the companies. Example
Awardspace -> http://www.wanginternet.com
50webs -> http://cctvcamera.50webs.com

Also, read a review I wrote on Awardspace at http://www.wanginternet.com

For domain names, check out Yahoo offer at $2.99 for the first year.

Hope it helps.

First you should be clear what type of account you want to setup. Free or paid.. Free hosting contains advertisements where as paid are fine and you can use databases also..

Yahoo allows you to post photos. Also myspace allows you to post photos and lots of other stuff, not exclusive to individuals. If you have a mac, .mac offers great web pages as well.
