because god is very impartial. only humans define what is right or wrong choices. it has nothing to do with freewill. god loves all his creatures equally and in order to do so, he doesnt judge who is better than the other. thats why a good person can get ran over by a car, and a venomous snake could be saved before it gets ran over by the same car. only human arrogance thinks that we are superior to all things but god keeps proving to us everyday that we aren't all that special, just look at all the children and people who die from disease and famine and were talking millions of people here every year. not that god doesn't love us , but that he loves us all equally. God really made this point clear when his sacrificed his son, allowing him to go through torture, to be hated, and cursed by the very peoplw who he was trying to help. Jesus had a whole lot of freewill, but the message wasn't about freewill, it was about how much he loved and how impartial he was to all creatures. Freewill can get you out of many messes, but it cant keep you from many natural disasters, or being harmed by robbers, murderers, etc. anyway, i'm sure you get the point..

If God gave us the capacity to only make "the right choice", then how would that be "giving us a choice"? God gives us free will because he does not want the love and worship of robots. We need to go through this time for a better future, God needs to let sin "wrong choices" to run its course so when the time is right for a new beginning, sin will not be part of it. People will still have freedom of choice, but with the knowledge of what we have already been through the "right choice" will be their choice.

I struggled with this question for a very long time. A lot of my bad choices ended up with me being in pain and it seemed cruel that God hadn't chosen to "save me" from that.
A while back, I heard a minister give a sermon on this topic. The way he explained it really made sense to me, so I'll share it with you.
Think of God as a modern day parent and you as his 10 year-old child. Imagine that you ask for a skateboard for your birthday. Now, as your parent, God knows that skateboards are dangerous. You could fall down or even be hit by a car. God could easily refuse to buy you the skateboard, and save you from getting hurt by it.
However, God listens to you beg and plead about how much fun you would have with your new skateboard and decides to buy it for you, knowing full well that it is dangerous.
When you open your present, you find not only the skateboard, but a helmet, knee pads and elbow pads. Although there is still a chance you will get hurt, God has given you safety equipment, in hopes that you will use it.
In this analogy, God has provided you with all the tools to be safe, but it is still your *choice* to use them or not. Life is the same way; all the danger is still there, but God has provided you with all the safety equipment you will ever need, if you chose to use it.
Hope this helps some.
Good luck! :)

In a way you have already answer your question. Once you know you have the capacity to make the right choice, why should you make a wrong choice?
Making wrong or right choice isn't about God, is about human self-conscience. God did extremely well by making you know the difference between right and wrong and by making the wrong choice is your own fault.

Well we really don't "know" why exactly but here's my thoughts. First, did we ask God to give us choice? And second, we are independant beings right now without proof(knowlegde) of God, we are created is his image that way and in the same way we have the same ability to choose what we do. If he would have disabled it then there would be no reason for us to be here, God needs nothing from us, and doesn't do anything without reasons. The reason we are here is choice.

because when everyone is born, they can choose one of two paths, the good, or the bad. When God sends you from a star in the sky to a human ( my grandma told me that) he gives you free will to choose. He gives us this choice to see if we really belong with him or not. If we all were good, then their wouldn't be a point of living because God would already know where we belong after we die. To Him, one isn't better than the other, he loves you no matter what, he just doesn't agree with you choices, but he would want you to choose one over the other, so he can choose where to put you in the end.

God does not want a bunch of robots walking around.Jah gave us free will so we can choose to love Him.Not feel obligated.Adam could have chosen to show God love by not eating from the tree.
If someone gave you everything good for you to you and said"You can have all this just don't watch American Idol on T.V.wouldn't you want to show the person how much you appreciated what has been done for you by not watching the show?

God gave us free will and a measure of faith. He wants us to believe in him and build upon that belief. He wants us to love and obey him by choice and because we really want to not because he demands that of us. He loves us so much, just like parents love their children and knows that sometimes in life we must learn from our mistakes. And what promise would heaven be to look forward to if everything were so great here?

God gave everyone a "Free Will", a choice to choose right from wrong for themselves. Yes, He would love it if we all chose right. We are all His children, and He is here to bless us to no end if we would just choose to follow Him. God Bless you!

Have you considered that maybe God's reasons are not something we can fully comprehend? It's a bit arrogant to think you know better than God. It's like the clay telling the potter what he should do.
