Doesn't Los Angeles mean "City of Angels"? So the LAA are the City of Angels Angels? This is stupid... Just put it back to California Angels.

art moreno (owner of the angels) believes he will make more money advertising his team as a team of Los Angeles, the second largest market in the world. he wants to attract more fans from LA, seeing how Anaheim is a much smaller market. the city's contract with the team requires the term Anaheim to be in the name so they cant go back to the california angels.

The only person that wants Los Angeles in the team name is owner Arty Moreno. He did it for marketing reasons because sponsors and advertisings will throw money at a team that can ride the coattails of one of the largest media markets in the work that is Los Angeles. Who would want to sponsor a team from Anaheim. After some time in court with the city of Anaheim, it was decided to name the team the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim because the Angels had a contract with the city to keep Anaheim in the name. Original, the Angeles were the Los Angeles Angels when they first came to the MLB. They later became known as the California Angels when they moved to Anaheim. Later the team name was changed to the Anaheim Angeles. In general, the Angel fans do not like the Los Angeles tag because they want to have nothing to do with Los Angeles because most of ran south and left LA for a reason. The Los Angeles Dodgers' fans have no interest in sharing a city name with another team, especially one from the snotty Orange County.

Firts "Los Angeles" means "The Angels", not "City of Angels".
Next, the former Anahaim Angeles changed their name to the ridiculous name of Los Angeles Angels as a marketing ploy to tray to capture the bigger L.A market not just for their larger fan base, but also for marketing.
The LAA owner does not really care much for baseball, it is just another business for him.

The owner Arte Moreno changed the name for advertising purposes. He believes he can raise prices for the use of their name, due to Los Angeles being a big market. Just like people would pay a lot more for a name brand than a generic brand.

Because they want to be the Dodgers, let me think which is better, 6 world series wins, or 1, angels are like the dodgers stupid little brother, trying to be like them, but will never be like them, by the way the dodgers are in first place and the angels are in last right now

They play in Anaheim, but they thought they could attract more L.A. fans, or appeal to L.A. fans if they had L.A. in their name, so before the 2005 season they changed their name.
