Nope, never too old to go back, educate yourself and get a better job. My friend who's teaching at a major university says sometimes people in their 60s and 70s attend classes.

When you are in your teens, you are in a mental state of a student and the mind is receptive due to your years in high school.
The older you get, the more out of place you may feel because of the student body around you in class. And, that 'fish out of water' attitude can have a bearing on fulfilling your ability to absorb and learn.
However, there is a maturity and an understanding that comes with someone who is 29 years old. Where students may participate in baseball, football, sports in general, an older student will appreciate what is before him/her and be a better student with a stronger ability to concentrate and put the sports-extra curriculum activity in proper perspective.
The only way to answer the question is to go back to school and make your own determination as to what you want to do with your life.
Good luck.

I was 29 when I started college. I will begin my last semester for my Associate's in accounting this fall, then continue with either a compatible Bachelor's degree or get another Associate's in legal assisting.
At my school (Kent State University's Salem campus) there are a lot of older people there. Some are getting Associate's degrees in fields like human services, horticulture and early childhood education, while others are getting Bachelor's degrees in early childhood education and radiology.

You are never to old to go back to college. In fact, your life experience probably gives you a better chance in getting into uni than someone who has just left high school. Socially you may feel out of place at first, but sooner rather than later you'll find that its no big deal. My friend is 33 while I am 21, and the other girls we hang out with at college are 18/19... but you couldn't tell it, and it doesn't faze us at all.

29 better not be too old because I am 36 and am taking classes again. Many colleges and universities have programs specifically for "non-traditional" students....those of us who aren't kids anymore. These programs often take into account real-life stuff like kids, jobs, and spouses.
Best Wishes!!

education at any age is acceptable if its what you want to do..
We learn everyday in some way and to return to college is a brave move as a mature aged student. I went back to school at age 39 and i've almost completed my degree in writing and editing. So go for it, you have nothing to loose.
