Christiano Ronaldo. I used to really not like him, thinking him an overconfident, cocky bastard. But now, I realize he is just a little immature because he is so young, but he has a passion for the game and is actually a pretty good player. He is way too flashy, but I think its just because he is so young. After seeing his dissapointment at his injury in the match against the Netherlands, and then seeing him kiss the ball before taking the winning penalty kick against England, I am a fan of his. I also love Lionel Messi, who hopefully WILL become the next Maradonna, and not the next person we thought would become the next Maradonna or Pele but failed.

Cannavaro and Zidane have to be the best players so far. Both these players have almost carried their teams so far. Cannavaro has been like a brick wall in the italian defensive back line and Zidane has been the masterfull architect of the French team.

I still think that Ricardo (Portugal's GK) is AWESOME...but I am very impressed with Totti, Cristiano Ronaldo and Miroslav Klose...getting the Golden Boot is NOT an easy trophy to win...and he will get it without having been in the Finals-impressive..
AND AS MUCH AS I CAN'T STAND FRANCE'S TEAM....
I'd give Thierry Henry props for his amazing play...I HATE ZIZOU..I'd rather watch Togo for hours than Zizou for 5 minutes..

Right now? I think it's Fabio Cannavaro; he is a fantastic captain, organised his defence superbly, did his job with aclarity, and had a major role in steering Italy in to the Finals of the World Cup.
