Ed Reed creates more opportunities for his team to score and scores points himself... the other two don't do that half as well as he does... not to mention he takes away on whole side of the field !!! You can throw over to his side of the field if you feel lucky !!! He's a version of Deion Sanders but at safety.

Ed Reed without a doubt. He is the hardest to gameplan against. Troy's next and Ray Lewis is over the hill but still very good but not even the best at his posistion anymore.

Ray Lewis is the meanest and better tackler, and Ed Reed is the faster and better defender, but when you want the overall better defensive playmaker it has to be Palumalu !!!

Seeing as Ray Lewis is the most overrated player in football (all he does is beat his chest and run around and pretend to tackle), it comes down to Polamalu and Reed. To be sure, Reed is a hell of a player, but Polamalu is all over the field, is used in all different positions and defenses, and has to be accounted for like no other defensive back today. So, with all due respect to Reed, it's Polamalu.

The answer to your question is the fact that two of those guys are on the same defense, i can't stand the guy but palumalu is a huge play maker, he does everything and he does it well, he's only a 2nd year player and he's leading that defense there's alot to be said for those intangibles

Steelers fan so I have to pick Troy. Also you watch him play and I think it is clear he is a better one then Ray Lewis now. Don't really see Ed Reed to comment on him.
