2003 UB313 ("Xena")

One particular scattered disc object, originally found in 2003 but confirmed two years later by Mike Brown (Caltech), David Rabinowitz (Yale University), and Chad Trujillo (Gemini Observatory), has renewed the old debate about what constitutes a planet since it is at least 5% larger than Pluto with an estimated diameter of 2400 km (1500 mi). It currently has no name, but has been given the provisional designation 2003 UB313, and has been nicknamed "Xena" by its discoverers, after the television character. [25]

and they say it is another planet!!

I had not heard of thee 10th, but I did hear that because Pluto is the only"planet" that isn't orbiting the sun on the same course a the rest of the planets that this is why some consider it more like Chiron. A comet on a path that happens that be as consistent as the planets.

Yes it's almost official even. And there is a discussion of an 11th. Also, some astronomers say Pluto doesn't even act like a planet so they like to think of us having only 8 planets in our system.

Actually, according to some, there may be only 8 planets. As more distant orbital objects have been discovered, scientists are asking (and have for years) if Pluto should have ever been called a planet.
